Athletic Facilities at Fossil Ridge High School

The Main and Auxiliary Gymnasiums at Fossil Ridge High School are designed for CHSAA approved basketball and include two full practice courts each as well as capabilities for volleyball and badminton. When the bleachers are retracted and the overhead doors are open, the running track loops through both Gyms. These centers of activity are located adjacent to the combination Aerobics / Wrestling room (with mat hoist), and across from the Weight Room, Locker Rooms, Coaches Offices, and Training Room.

Exterior Facilities

Exterior facilities include a track and field stadium, football field, seating and press facilities. The site was designed in collaboration with the City of Fort Collins to create a joint high school and community park. Shared outdoor recreation facilities and infrastructure resulted in reduced number of ball fields and tennis courts as well as shared parking lots. In addition, native and xeriscape plantings with a highly efficient irrigation system reduce the need for water. The soccer field is made of artificial turf, comprised of recycled plastic and rubber materials.

The new fields are designed for and include: all track and field events, artificial turf field for soccer and lacrosse, security, field lighting, bleacher seating with press box, storage and concessions, soccer fields that can be re-oriented for turf management, baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, physical education and practice football fields, a marching band practice field, and additional parking.
