Aquatic Center at Kelly Walsh High School

The Aquatics Center for Kelly Walsh High School was a District-Funded Enhancement that includes a “Stretch 25-Yard” pool with an integrated diving well, men’s and women’s locker rooms, coach’s offices and locker rooms, spectator seating for up to 750 spectators and team seating. The “Stretch 25-Yard” pool with an integrated diving well utilizes a movable bulkhead between the lap-swimming portion of the pool and the diving well portion of the pool to meet the District’s need to run swim practices and diving practices simultaneously, but does so in a more space-effective and cost-effective manner than having a separate diving well approach. The integrated diving well features two 1-meter boards and one 3-meter board. The “stretch” configuration of the pool also accommodates a regulation water polo field. The Aquatics Center is integrated into the athletic portion of the school building and features controlled natural daylight. It supports the school’s PE classes (including adaptive PE) and swim clubs as well as shared use by the community.
